Job Overview – Construction Estimator:
Take on an impactful role with our client in Montgomery County, PA, as a Construction Estimator. This role focuses on preparing budgets, conceptual estimates, and detailed estimates for small to medium-sized projects. You’ll leverage your expertise in cost analysis, material take-offs, and vendor partnerships to drive project success.
Compensation: $100,000 - $140,000/year + bonus
Location: Montgomery County, PA
Responsibilities as the Construction Estimator:
- Material Take-Offs: Analyze drawings using applicable software to perform material take-offs for detailed estimates and provide unit cost pricing.
- Document Review: Assist with red-lining documents and developing project updates for bid package estimate comparisons.
- Quantity Management: Track and adjust quantities as needed, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Vendor Relations: Solicit subcontractor bids and build relationships with vendors to secure competitive quotes.
- Scope Analysis: Review Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Basis of Design, and drawings to determine scope of work and estimate requirements.
Qualifications for the Construction Estimator:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering required (trade school or equivalent technical training and experience accepted).
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Mechanical Construction Estimating.
- Skills: Exceptional mathematical aptitude, communication, and organizational abilities, with strong knowledge of construction costs, principles, and document interpretation.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word), Quick Pen Auto Bid Mechanical and Sheet Metal Estimating software, and drafting systems.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, solution-focused, and capable of managing complex data while fostering vendor relationships and teamwork.
